RUMPSHAKER, INC. ANNOUNCES THE LISA MARTZ HOPE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The Lisa Martz Hope Scholarships will be awarded to deserving students whether they are entering college for the first time or are already established students. These scholarships are to assist students whose families have been impacted by colorectal cancer. Click on the link below for the scholarship application:
RUMPSHAKER, INC. DONATES 2014 RACE PROCEEDS TO DETECT AND TREAT COLORECTAL
A total of $50,000 was donated to Birmingham, AL area hospitals (Princeton Baptist Health System, St. Vincent's Health System, and Medical West Hospital) to assist in the purchase of state of the art medical equipment used to detect and treat colorectal cancer.
A total of $3,000 was donated to Birmingham, AL area hospital patient navigation programs (Princeton Patient Navigators and UAB Patient Navigators). Navigators assist patients in their fight with cancer by providing avenues of short term financial assistance such as gas, food and lodging. The funds donated by Rumpshaker will be used to provide colorectal cancer patients with this type of assistance.
A total of $2,850 was donated to the Blue Hope Prevention Award. The Colon Cancer Alliance and Colonoscopy Assist offer the Blue Hope Prevention Award, a program providing qualifying individuals with financial support for the cost of screening or other screening-related expenses. The funds donated by Rumpshaker will specifically be used to assist patients in Alabama.

THE SEMI-COLON CLUB, A COLORECTAL CANCER SUPPORT GROUP
Come out and participate in "The Semi-Colon Club". This Support Group meets every third Thursday of the month at the Homewood Library. Meetings will be held from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Participants may arrive at 6:30 pm for a social time and light refreshments.
Our support group is open to patients, survivors, caregivers and anyone impacted by this disease. No RSVP necessary. Visit The Semi-Colon Club facebook page for further updates and discussion.
